We hope this message finds you well. In our previous communication, we highlighted the resilience of our bond funds despite the challenges faced by US stocks. However, after closely monitoring economic indicators, we have started to see some signs that the bond market may begin to see its own share of turbulence.
As a result, we made trades in many of our client accounts yesterday to add a layer of protection by selling one of our core bond positions, the Hartford Schroders Tax-Aware Bond ETF (HTAB), and buying a Schwab Money Market fund (SWVXX) with the proceeds.
The current interest rate on the Schwab Money Market fund is 4.17%. Our thought is that we will stay in this safe position until we feel that the bond market has stabilized, or we identify a compelling opportunity to invest in stocks at a lower price.
We will stay in touch as we navigate the current market environment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your trust and partnership.
Sincerely,
Your PFA Investment Committee
