Married with 3 children – 2 are out of college and 1 has 2 years left

David and Sophia have been married for 28 years. They became clients at age 53 and were referred by Sophia’s parents, who are longtime clients. It was important to them that their children complete college without debt and that they leave an inheritance to their children, Presper Financial (PFA) took this into consideration in their initial plan and found they would still be able to retire by 65 and leave an inheritance even if they paid the full tuition. PFA helped them determine the best strategies for building a low tax inheritance and for paying educational costs while staying on track saving for their retirement. PFA assisted in implementing some of these strategies as well through completing back door roth contributions, roth conversions, and managing 529 accounts for their kids.

Sophia loves her job and plans to continue to work until at least 65. David used to love his job but they recently went through a reorganization that has made it a lot more stressful, he now hopes to retire within the next year or 2. PFA was able to adjust their plan to reflect the early retirement and found strategies with a high success rate even allowing for them to continue to take family vacations, eat at their favorite restaurants, assist their kids with future wedding costs, help with education costs for future grandchildren, and leave an inheritance. PFA’s updated financial plan has given them piece of mind that they will still be able to enjoy life even if he retires earlier than originally planned, they are looking forward to creating lifetime memories with their kids and future grandchildren.

They feel confident that their kids will be solid as their two older children are high earners out of college and have begun working with PFA to help build a strong financial foundation at an early age, and they plan to refer their youngest once he graduates from college and joins the working world. They are glad their children will have guidance to develop good financial behaviors so they utilize their inheritance in ways that David and Sophia would be proud of. They love receiving the PFA Holiday letter as it shows similar values regarding family, they feel all three generations have been served well by PFA and will continue to seek guidance, especially as they encounter new challenges with their aging parents.
