Case Study 2: Jill Fowler
*This is a sample case study designed to demonstrate our services and capabilities.
Age: 67
Occupation: retired, VP of HR at local company
Never married, no children
Jill worked for her employer for 40 years and retired a few years ago. She loved her job and worked long hours for years, she accumulated well into her retirement and savings accounts but was concerned about having enough money for her future. She was referred to Presper Financial (PFA) by an old co-worker when they were celebrating her retirement a few years before Jill. She started working with PFA when she was 62 and was glad to have their support as she navigated social security, pension, Cobra, Medicare, her 401k allocations, and many other decisions as she readied for retirement.
As part of her retirement preparation PFA assisted in developing an income strategy and a long-term smart tax-strategy. She has enough monthly income in her retirement to maintain her lifestyle and is confident the money will last her lifetime. She is glad PFA has similar values regarding charitable giving and is looking forward to increasing her charitable giving through QCDs when she turns 70 ½.
She appreciates that whenever she calls she gets a familiar voice and she never has to call more than once on the same request. Each time she calls her question is answered in the moment or she receives a return call that day. She was pleasantly surprised that PFA has encouraged her to spend more money, during phase one of her retirement, the “go-go” years, which she is spending traveling, which she loves to do. She recently took a month-long cruise and was glad that she did not have to worry about the market or her accounts while she was gone.
She is glad to already have a relationship with PFA, so as she comes closer to her second two phases of retirement (the “slow-go” and “no-go” phases) she will receive the support she needs. The discussions on long-term care and estate planning having been particularly helpful in putting her mind at ease. She feels confident she will be able to maintain her lifestyle as she ages and that her legacy will live on even once she is gone.
