Dan's Ski Trip

Mar 09, 2018

This week from Dan Garner:

About 4 years ago my wife and I picked up skiing as a hobby. So, when the snow starts falling each year, we start to get excited, because that means another ski season will soon be upon us. I know this isn't always a very popular opinion, so around the office I try to keep my excitement somewhat concealed.

Over the past few years we have been to many of the ski resorts in the area and have made a few trips to New York as well, but in our first year as a married couple we turned things up a notch as we took a trip to Colorado following the Christmas holiday.

It was an absolutely amazing experience for us and being on top of those mountains looking out at the landscape below was truly breathtaking. I've included a couple of pictures from the trip at the bottom of this writing, but it doesn't do it justice at all. We had heard so much about skiing out west and I must admit that I was a bit skeptical that it wouldn't live up to all that it was hyped up to be. However, we were quickly blown away by all that we encountered. Between the length of the ski slopes, the picture perfect setting, and the quality of the snow, it was a perfect trip all around.

Something that surprised us was the weather out in Colorado. There is so much sunshine on the slopes that you actually have to be careful that you don't get sunburnt while skiing, which is completely different from the couple months of gray, cloudy skies we get in Ohio.

Overall, it was an amazing trip and we had a ton of fun experiencing Colorado together. I can confidently say that we can't wait to get out there again in the future.

Have a good one!
