Show Me the Bunny!

Show Me the Bunny!

Easter has it's traditions at our house (as does every holiday I guess). From a religious perspective it's important to our family, but for the kids, the Easter Bunny has a long history of showing up big time! My wife Sonya makes sure there are baskets for everyone, including our adult children and in-laws. They get wrapped in festive cellophane and hidden around the house. There is true team effort in the morning to find them because nobody gets to unwrap their basket until all are accounted for (be sure to look in the oven and the dryer). Eggs have been colored a couple days before and plastic eggs filled with candy and quarters for the Easter egg hunt for grandkids and grand nieces and nephews. (Watch out for Aunt Lydia, she is competitive!)

Last year our celebration was dialed back because of Covid. This year, with most of us now vaccinated and with appropriate precautions, we hope to have a day that feels more normal as a family.

Aside from the fun and games, I look forward to a meal together and conversations among family who have been separated for too long. Our out of towners are getting their baskets and petit fours from the "Easter Sonya" via UPS. Let's keep our fingers crossed for exceptional weather this coming weekend.

We hope you and your family have a Blessed Easter and a day that lets you connect with family and friends, even if it's via Zoom. Happy Easter!
